The aim of this phd is to develop a new approach for the discretization of realistic models for polymer flows. The theoretical part of the thesis will be accompanied by the development of a computational code for the numerical simulation of nonisothermal non-newtonian flows with nonlinear differential laws. This software will be based on the incompressible flow solvers and related tools developed at LMA. This thesis is part of an interdisciplinary collaboration.
