CSIRO Mathematics, Informatics and Statistics have an exciting Post Doctoral Research Fellow position for a statistician with an interest in spatial and spatio-temporal statistics. This three year position will be based at Clayton in Melbourne, working in the Business and Services Analytics Research Program.

The Nalanda-Sriwijaya Centre of the Institute of Southeast Asian Studies (ISEAS) in Singapore, which pursues research on historical interactions among Asian societies and civilizations, is accepting applications from scholars who wish to undertake research and writing in the area of intra-Asian historical interactions during 2010. Postdoctoral Fellowship The Max Planck Institute for the History of Science in Berlin, Independent Research Group I (Dagmar Schäfer), announces a postdoctoral fellowship for up to two years, beginning 1 September 2008.

Projects from the fields of Art, Architecture, Material Culture OR Economics in Chinese history (10th to 18th Century) that involve the relationship between practical and theoretical knowledge are particularly welcome.

Outstanding junior scholars (Ph.D. awarded no earlier than 2003) are invited to apply. Fellowships are endowed with a monthly stipend between 1.900 and 2300 € (fellows from abroad). The starting date of the appointment is negotiable and can be as early as October 1st 2007. The initial appointment will be for two years with a possibility of renewal for one more year. The annual salary for the research fellow ranges from 20,000,000 won to 30,000,000 won, depending on the qualification (one US dollar is roughly equivalent to 950 Korean won).
